Broadcast Genres

You outline some of the elements of the chart show and say that it is live? What makes you think that?
Part of the trick of radio is to make pre-recorded elements feel like they are live. Do you think it is possible for a chart show to be recorded earlier in the week?

You need to be clearer about the audience for the show - consider a range of demographic elements. Is the content appropriate for this audience? How well suited is the presenter and his tone, style and voice to the audience?

Tell me more about what a radio soap is. You mention that it has a theme song. Is this the main element that determines whether it is a soap or not?
Why do you think The Archers is so popular and has lasted so long?

Lastly, you talk about advice programmes. What are the main elements that are common to all advice programmes? Does the presenter have any particular skills, qualities or qualifications that other presenters might not have?
Is there is a particular time that these sorts of programmes are broadcast? Is there a reason for this? Why?
To achieve a Distinction you really need to be making comparisons between programmes, and judging them based on a range of criteria which could include the sound quality, appropriateness for the audience, content and audience interaction.

  3. Thank you sir. To improve I will make comparisons between the shows and come to an overall conclusion about which show I think is the best, based on the criteria I judged them on.
